What is four-way stretch fabric? What are the characteristics?

Four-way stretch usually uses the method of adding spandex elastic yarn to the fabric to make the fabric elastic. First, the yarn is twisted with the spandex covered yarn to twist it to make it into elastic yarn. Feeding length to control the elasticity of the yarn. During the manufacturing and finishing process, the elongation of the yarn and fabric must be controlled to control the elasticity of the finished product.

The cloth stretched on four way is the warp and weft bidirectional stretch cloth. The general stretch elongation is 10%-15%, and the amount of spandex in the fabric is about 3%.

The advantages of four-way stretch fabric:

1. High strength. The short fiber strength is 2.6 to 5.7 cN/dtex, and the high strength fiber is 5.6 to 8.0 cN/dtex. The strength in wet state is basically the same as the strength in dry state. The impact strength is 4 times higher than nylon and 20 times higher than viscose fiber.

2. Good flexibility. The elasticity is similar to wool, when it is stretched 5% to 6%, it can fully recover. The wrinkle resistance is far better than other types of fibers, that is, the fabric is not wrinkled, and the stability of the scale is good. The modulus of elasticity is 2 to 3 times higher than that of nylon. Good elasticity, very suitable for women's wear. The stretchy women's leggings popular in recent years can also be used in shoes and hats, home textiles, toys, crafts, etc.

3. Good heat resistance, no deformation at high temperature. Good light resistance. Light resistance is second only to acrylic. The surface is lubricated, the internal molecules are tightly placed, and there is no hydrophilic structure between the molecules, so the moisture regain is very small and the moisture absorption function is poor.

4. Corrosion resistance. Resistant to bleach, oxidants, hydrocarbons, ketones, petroleum commodities and inorganic acids. It is resistant to dilute alkali and not afraid of mildew, but hot alkali can differentiate it.

5. Good wear resistance. The abrasion resistance is second only to the nylon with the best abrasion resistance, better than other natural fibers and synthetic fibers

Disadvantages:

The color fastness of four-way stretch fabric is generally not high, especially black is easy to fade. The color of the fabric is easy to be inaccurate, and the problem of color difference will often occur. Secondly, the elasticity and gram weight on the four sides are more difficult to control.
